Professional Technical Training For Women

In the village of Morvarid, which is the main village adjacent to the Morvarid iron ore mine; women are generally not involved in economic activities. This view was further supported by the activities of two women’s kitchens to provide food for the mine employees and purchase women’s products for organizational/occasional gift packages. Also, training courses were held in cooperation with and in the presence of instructors approved by the country’s technical and vocational organization; and finally, interested women received technical and vocational certificates in their chosen field by participating in the relevant exams.

Supporting Small And Medium-Sized Employment Creation

In addition to directly employing local men in the Morvarid iron ore mine, Matmaa Mining Group has played a role in the socio-economic sustainability of its surrounding community by supporting small and medium-scale economic activities developed by women in Morvarid village. As a result, small and medium-sized businesses are included as contractors in the company’s supply chain, and more links in the flow of economic value creation and distribution in Mamaa Company have been connected to the host community in the company’s operations.

Improving The Quality Of The Child And Adolescent Experience

Children and adolescents are the main assets of any society. Investing in improving their quality of life leads to a healthier and more dynamic society. In interactions that the residents of Morvarid village had with the facilitators and the head of the Matmaa Social Responsibility Unit in the village; they raised their concerns about the lack of cultural, sports and recreational facilities for children and adolescents. On the other hand, Matmaa Mining Group views children and adolescents as the next generation of adults who will have a serious interaction with the mine. As a result, their skill, cultural and educational development can shape more constructive interactions with less risk of conflicts in the future.

Formation Of Home Sewing Workshops

In line with the findings of the Matmaa Social Responsibility Office team, one of the opportunities identified for participating in the development of the Morvarid iron ore mine host community was the activation of small home sewing workshops for women in Morvarid village. Orders that Matmaa has for its desired products in corporate gift packages are distributed among the women tailors under the supervision of the head of the social responsibility unit in Morvarid village and in proportion to their skills and capabilities.

With the support of the Islamic Council of the village, one of the rooms of the council building, which has independent access, has been used as the library location. All the facilities available in the library have been provided with collective participation.

Interaction with the Morvarid Village School

In 2020, a junior high school was established in Morvarid Village. One of the most important achievements of the interaction between the Social Responsibility Unit of Motama and the Morvarid Village School was the establishment of junior high school classes in grades seven, eight, and nine. Until 1400, education in the Morvarid Village School was only possible until the end of primary school. The head of the Social Responsibility Office in Morvarid Village, by holding meetings with the parents of the students and the school principal, explained and highlighted the need for serious follow-up to resolve this problem and the positive impact it had on the lives of their children in the village. The emphasis in this program is on its participatory nature.
