Safety First And Second
One of the important issues in establishing a sustainable mining approach in Matmaa is improving occupational safety and health conditions in the Morvarid iron ore mine. In this regard, the company’s Safety, Health and Environment Department has implemented a set of related programs and measures to comply with relevant laws and ensure a safe working environment and maintain the health of mine employees.
Conducting occupational medicine tests: Conducting pre-employment tests and annual periodic examinations is the main basis for establishing employee health records, identifying relevant corrective or treatment measures, and changing their working conditions if necessary. Making the operating environment safe: Creating barriers on all access routes to mines, continuously modifying stairs and ramps, monitoring the stability of the slope of the work front, and stopping activities in unsafe or less safe areas will be continuous and established matters of Matmaa HSE.
Personnel training: This is another activity in which employees are trained on safety and health issues, as needed. Training on work safety or working at height, recognizing chemical agents, and using personal protective equipment has been provided to employees.
Sending SMS or sounding sirens before a fire: Sounding a loud and audible siren in the mine and village area and sending SMS to villagers to inform them before a fire occurs. Matmaa Mining Complex hopes that maintaining compliance with safety and health principles will lead to a healthy and safe working environment.
